SHREWSBURY FOLK FESTIVAL FAQs

  • If you have a festival ticket with Thursday camping, you can check in from 1500-1800 on Thursday. All other weekend camping ticket holders can check in from 0700 on Friday. The campsite closes at midday on Tuesday.

  • Normal reception opening hours are 8am and midnight. When reception is closed, there will be a 24-hour point of contact for use in emergencies.

  • Hotel Bell Tent is located in the heart of the festival site, close to the Sabrina stage and within easy reach of all facilities.

  • Once you’ve set up your camp, for the benefit of your fellow festivalgoers, we’d very much appreciate it if you moved your car to the car park field, especially if you have additional vehicles in your party. Campers get a free car park pass on arrival so you won’t incur any cost for this. Please do this wherever possible as it will mean a more enjoyable camping experience for everyone on site. If you are unable to do so, there will be the option to leave your vehicle nearby.

  • No, only the number of people you have booked for can stay in your accommodation.

  • No, festival tickets are not included in your accommodation booking. You must purchase festival tickets for each member of your group from the Shrewsbury Folk festival website.

SFF has a reputation for being a family friendly festival with an inclusive atmosphere but a security team operates across the site 24 hours a day. If you need assistance, please stop a member of the security team or visit the pedestrian gate (main entrance at gate 2).

As always, Hotel Bell Tent cannot be liable for lost or stolen items. We advise all guests against bringing unnecessary valuable items to the event and having handbags or purses on visual display in their tent.

  • We highly recommend you bring a torch, lots of layers for when the sun goes down, plenty of warm bedding (if this is not included within the package you have booked) and cosy pyjamas. Bringing an extra blanket is always a good idea just in case the night times are a little cooler.

  • Please refer to the festival website for any rules regarding the bringing of alcohol.

  • Please refer to the festival website for any rules regarding the use of BBQs and camping stoves. Please note Hotel Bell tent does not permit naked flames (camping stoves, candles etc.) inside any accommodation option.

  • At Hotel Bell Tent we respect the environment and try our hardest to look after all the beautiful spaces where we set up camp. We welcome all guests' help in keeping our area clean and tidy and assisting us in leaving no trace.
